OK, more ramblings from Jose. Anyway, I won’t be complaining if there were choices here. But, since most folks eat ‘pan-de-sal’ for breakfast, I guess having lots of cereal choices is not a good business move for cereal makers. Plus, it’s so expensive to buy cereal AND milk. (Milk, btw, does taste the same. Plus, you can store milk longer; they’re processed through UHT…or Ultra High Temperature.) Have I told you guys that it’s getting hot here? Hot AND humid? I thought I’d be used to it by now, but I guess the humidity went up one notch. I predict my brother’s gonna be staying inside with the AC on all the time. There goes my electric bill! hehe I’ll probably just drive him to the mall. Heck, maybe he can drive so he can appreciate how good we have it back in Milpitas.
See this cereal? Yup. The 99 pesos one? (that’s like 2 bucks.) Supposedly, it’s the same cereal that I enjoyed in Milpitas. Same name, same company. Same taste, you expect right? Wrong. It’s somewhat different. It tastes like a very ‘wheaty’ Clusters. Heck, the almonds are all small pieces too. It’s the same with Fruit Loops too. Same name and logo, but it tastes differently; has a cardboard after-taste.
The only good cereal here is Koko Krunch, a chocolate flavored cereal. BUT I can’t eat this all the time! Ugh. Maybe I should just buy more ‘taho.’ (It’s a breakfast tofu drink.) Taho is good too.

Ramblin’s
Just Writin’
Just wanted to write some trivial stuff:
Look at this house. This house used to be our first house in PI. The place around it has changed dramatically that I didn’t even recognize the area. Talk about not being able to come home again! Good thing the foundation of the house didn’t change too much, and I was able to recognize it. But, it was still freaking weird to not to remember the area. hehe
This pic shows my dining area and kitchen. I had the dining table custom-made. It’s pretty cool that one can do that here. I even chose the fabric/color of the seats. It’s supposed to be green, but when the pic came out, it looks like teal. Go Sharks!
It’s getting warm here. Humidity is risin. Good thing we have AC. Shoot. I hate humidity!
We are way behind when it comes to TV shows. They’re only showing last season’s 24. They’re also just showing Lost 2 a few weeks back. At 11pm too. Ugh. Good thing I have a VCR. hehe
Aite. Just wanted to write some random stuff. Hope it was entertaining.
East 237
Can you believe that it’s been one year since I worked? Sheesh. Talk about sabbaticals! Dang. Now, I don’t see any vacations for me since the studio is about to be operational. Well, have to wait for my brother to arrive in the Philippines, but that’s already this April, and it should fairly be a quick tutorial. hehe Besides, it’s his vacation too, so we might just work for a few days and goof off the rest of his stay here. I know his lolos and lolas all want to see him anyway, so I won’t be selfish; I’ll share him. haha
Anyway, it is an exciting time. So close to opening the studio!
As you can see in this picture, the inside is already ‘acoustic’d’ out. Basically, no more echoes in the studio. (You need to achieve a ‘dead’ sound when recording because you add the effect later.) The funny thing is that I thought the room was goin to be plastered with those acoustic boards, but it didn’t need to be. Credit goes to my architect/contractor Norby Reyes for the design. He had the idea of laminating the acoustic boards instead of just nailing it to the wall. (that was MY idea…good thing I didn’t become an architect.) hehe Anyway, once the desks arrive, I’ll have everything in place and can set up the computers and mixers. THEN, we can start our test recordings! (So, any of you want to get a ‘free’ recording in, first week of April is the time.) hehe
I know I haven’t posted anything for a while, been busy with house/studio and taking care of Carie.
Our baby is so active, I can feel it kicking! So cool.
The only downside is that it sometimes keeps her awake at night, not to mention the backaches, since the baby is getting bigger. Oh, don’t ask me what’s the gender of the baby; I don’t know yet. The ultrasound is still a few weeks away, so maybe we’ll know by then. For now, I’m in the dark just like everyone else.
Aite, hope you guys weren’t bored reading my little novela. hehe
Go Giants!
The Studio
Ok, lots of folks have been askin, what’s up with the studio? Well, for starters, it’s officially called "East 237 Recording Studio" since my other choice was taken. Anyway, it’s cool since it will always remind me of Milpitas…since E237 leads to Milpitas.
So, that’s taken care of, here’s another update: The studio is halfway built!
Here’s a shot of the construction:
(this is the kitchen..house will be one story, but it’ll have a roofdeck.)
Hopefully, everything will be done by end of October and Carie and I will move into our new house. And I can finally WORK. Sheesh, I’d never thought I’d miss working!
Well, until my next post. Miss you all!
Married!
Yesh, I’m married. Happilly too.
(Did I spell that wrong?) hehe Anyway, I’m such in a state of bliss right now that even Sreang’s teasin’ won’t work. (yeah, Sreang, i read your comment.) haha The wedding was a blast, simple, but very cool. The cool thing was the judge was a good friend of my Uncle Jun, so it was a very relaxed atmosphere. Plus, Carie was just stunning! If you can see the pic that I can’t upload right now (modem speed, 42.6kbps…that’s why) you’ll know I’m tellin the truth! hehe The reception was lots of fun too. Good food, good company. It’s all captured on video, which, sadly, can’t be viewed by all. It shows how un-formal it was.
Anyway, hope I can post some pics soon! Take care folks!
I’m Getting Married! :D
See the beautiful girl next to me? She accepted my marriage proposal and we’re getting married April 29! Yup, my birthday too. What a wonderful gift huh? Anyway, to those that know me well, knows that I’m totally in love with Carie.
Pakakasalan nga eh. (That’s "That’s why I’m marrying her." in English.) So folks, if you don’t hear from me for a while, it’s because I’m distracted.
The Studio
Since everyone’s been asking: the studio will be located in Taytay, Rizal. It’s my hometown. The lot that the studio/house will be built on is actually where my dad grew up in. Yup, it’s my grandma’s land.
So, basically, I’m just keeping the Geronimo name when I bought the land. hehe
And Taytay is approx. an hour away from Manila. (Give or take a few hours for traffic.)
No, you can’t fly a plane to my hometown.
And no, there’s no beaches next to my place. Go to Boracay for that.
Me? A blogger?
Inconceivable!
Anyway, since I AM undertaking this massive project that everyone wants to be updated on…this little project called "Moving back to Philippines to start my own business," I decided to just start a blog because I can simply direct folks over to my blog. Plus, it’s probably easier than updating my web site. haha (which, I might convert into a business site, as soon as I know if my business name is available in PI.)
For those few folks I missed telling, I’m heading back to PI this March 16. By the 18th, I’ll be in PI for good. Time flies huh?
Although I will diligently try to update this blog, I might have limited access to the internet when I get to PI. Plus, I know I’ll be busy getting the house/studio built. Just check it once in a while when you get the "Gee, I wonder how Jose is doing?" feeling.
Later folks!
