Evanescence Concert

Let me start first that I didn’t like Evanescence latest album, The Open Door. I think it’s repetitive and some songs are quite dull. I do like the song "Cry to Me When You’re Sober."  With that in mind, why am I at an Evanescence concert? Well, my wife received it as a birthday gift from my sister! Plus it’s her fave band too. So, it’s all cool. AND, despite my trepidations, it was actually very enjoyable. :)

Anyway, like I said, I didn’t particularly care for the new album, but when Amy Lee and the gang came out to sing, it was clear that this band knew how to rock! Lee’s stage presence is undeniable; she was a bundle of energy, going from one end to one end, belting out their trademark songs. Even with all that running, you’d think she’ll be out of breath or out of tune, but NO, her voice was remarkable. Very powerful voice indeed. Gotta hear it to believe it. My fave part was when she sang their big hit, "Bring Me Back To Life". Even though they didn’t have the rap part, it was still very good because Lee seemed to give it her all.

All in all, if Evanescence is in your part of town, better buy a ticket. It’s worth it. (Take it from a non-fan!) :)
