A high stakes card game; A fish out of water; and running for your life

If you haven’t figured it out, this will be a reviews blog. What? You guys didn’t figure it out? Shame. hahaha Yeah, I look at my blog title and it does seem vague. haha Anyway, here are my reviews:

A High Stakes Card Game..Casino Royale:

Bond is back. But, wait, it’s not Pierce Brosnan, it’s Daniel Craig. Yup, Daniel Craig. I was a wee bit skeptical that goin with a youngish actor that looks more suited for a Lord of the Rings movie than a glamour film series was gonna work out for the Bond series. However, since the movie does deal with Bonds FIRST mission, he was supposed to be young. For Bond fans though, it will be a jolt to learn that even though this is Bond’s first mission, it’s set in present day. Once you adjust your mindset though, this is one HELLA good movie! Craig does a great job as Bond; he’s tough, cool and eventually, suave. There are lots of exciting action scenes, especially the beginning chase scene, which rivals any Jackie Chan stunts. Wow.

And dang, this Bond is just brutal. Forget Pierce or Moore, Craig is Sean Connery reborn. He is very believable as a man capable of killing anyone, with or without weapons.

Anyway, the movie is so good that I just want to recommend it to folks to just go see it. Forget my plot summary. :)

A fish out of water…Borat:

Borat
This movie will either be HILARIOUS or SO STUPID to anyone watching. I found it hilarious! The movie about a Kazakstan reporter doing a report about the silliness of life in America is so dead-on that this film must have been burned in the south. haha Anyway, Sacha Cohen does a great job being "Borat" that it’s impossible to think of Borat as only make-believe. There HAS to be a Borat somewhere. hehe

This movie can be polarizing because it is so over-the-top that if you don’t like that type of comedy, you probably will not enjoy this movie. Also, there are very adult situations in this movie, so it’s not for the kiddies.

My sis also pointed out that if you have lived in the US, you’ll get most of the jokes of the movie, since it deals with making fun of life here. Although, I think people will still find it funny even without having lived in the US.

Running For Your Life….Resident Evil 4:

Yes, it’s a game. I never said that all the reviews will be about movies. Did I? hehe Anyway, this is a GREAT game. The version I played is for the Gamecube, but it’s available for the PS2 as well. This game is an installment of the Resident Evil series. This time, Leon Kennedy (of R.Evil 2), is sent to find the President’s daughter, who was kidnapped in Spain. When Leon gets there, he finds a village overrun, not by zombies, but parasite infected villagers, who are out to kill strangers. Yes, you run for your life some times, but mostly you get to kill those bad guys. It’s a great action game, that mixes in the scares from time to time. And, you never know terror until, the Leatherface guy with the chainsaw goes after you. VERY scary. hehe

The graphics, story, sounds and voice-acting (except for Ashley, the President’s daughter, her voice is SO annoying.) are all very good. If you have a PS2 or Gamecube, go get this game.
