JG Updates

Yup, you read that right! A category 4 storm passed through the Philippines and, you guessed it, hit us straight on! If you read the news, you’ll see that Metro Manila was hit hard and lots of buildings were affected. Heck, even my house was affected. The skylight roof that I have in my house, I thought was gonna fly off. One of the screws that holds it down came off and the 140kph winds (umm..100mph, I think) was threatening to take the roof with it. Needless to say, there were some anxious moments for the household if we needed to start wearing raincoats inside the house. hehe Thankfully, the roof held and I just have to have it fixed today, so that the next Cat 4 won’t take my roof away.

The only other damage we had in our house was just my No Parking signs coming off. (Some super glue and it’ll be back up.)

Most work I had to do was just to keep the water from coming in the house. It was seeping through the cracks of the doors and it was flooding my floors! I was mopping almost all day! Oh, to top it off, electricity was down all day. We only got power back around 6pm. (perfect timing for dinner!) hehe

Throughout it all, Jerald was a trooper. He barely noticed all the wind noises and the loud banging of the roof. I think he was happy because he got to wear his sweat pants! haha Plus, his uncle Seth was here, seeking shelter from the storm, to keep him company. For Jerald, this wasn’t a cat 4 storm, it was just a cold day in September.
