As a newbie parent who never really took care of babies before
, it has been an eye-opener month. (Wow, is Jerald really goin to be one month?) Movies, books, advices have not prepared me for things that were ahead of me in this new path of my life called "parenthood." hehe Let me list what I’ve found out about my baby so far:
- My baby can eat. A LOT. I mixed a million formulas already and that little bundle still cries out for more. I’m thinking of making a barrel-full of milk and just stick a hose straight from it.
- Jerald can pee a LOT too. Where does it come from? See above.
- Jerald pees, everywhere. He’s like a dog that has gone berserk to mark his territory, which happens to be our bed. Heck, he even marked both his parents. Eewww de toilet is our new scent.
- Babies get heavy. Yup, you think you’re strong enough to carry them, but after half an hour of constantly rocking them in your arms, your arms sure don’t feel strong after a while…my wife and I both have the same "crooked-arm" look. We look like pirates. Yar, me maties.
- Babies don’t sleep. Well, not in the adult sense of sleep. Jerald seems content to just nap and trick us to thinking we can sleep. Lo and behold, once you get your REM sleep goin, you hear the cries of my little bundle of joy and pee. Coffee!!
- Yes, you will discover the magic of coffee. Instant, brewed, scraped of a shoe, you will drink it. LOTS of it.
- Babies know where to kick. Yes. He will find your weak spots. Quickly. "Medic!"
- Babies make good paperweight. hehe Nah, just put that in for shock purposes. I would never use my Jerald for paperweight. A doorstop yes…
Evil dad.
Aite. That’s it for now. Little one is making noises. Probably needs his milk soon. I really should get that hose…KIDDING!!! (sheesh.)
